We meet people everyday. What sort of impression you wish to leave behind when you left? If I were to describe someone to you in the following adjectives:
A) Smart, Diligent, Earnest, Stubborn, Critical, Male
B) Critical, Stubborn, Earnest, Diligent, Smart, Male
They are similar adjectives but have been rearranged from Good to bad in (A) and in reverse (B). Will you perceive A as smart and hardworking? Due to his earnest attitude, he is sometimes headstrong and judgmental. On the other hand, B is critical and obstinate even though he can be smart and diligent.
First impression is formed through the preliminary strategic adjectives. Subconsciously, the initial one or two adjectives are deciding factor.
Perception can be deceiving, but it is definitely a BARRIER that draws away people from liking you. Here are some essential tips on how to enliven a good impression:
Physical Appearance: Dress in moderate and decent style with neutral colours such as white. Shades of blues increase a level of accessibility and draw people closer to you. Clean and flawless face with well-polished teeth enhances your expression. A good hair-cut is seen as neat and tidy.
Expression & Eye Contact: Smile is the key. When you smile, lift the two corner of your lip's wide-up and express it from within. The best smile is to display your teeth. Maintain good eye contact when you talk. Do not wring your eye brow when you pause for thoughts.
Vocal and Think before you speak: You voice equates 38% of how people perceive you. Your tone, volume, and diction weigh a lot. There is a saying; sound is melody; language is power, and diction is destiny. Always think before you speak. Rehearse your sentence and the choice of words can affect a relationship. When you speak, do not come across as rude, judgemental and offending.
Wisdom Equates Intelligence: Be street-smart. Your ability to adjust yourself to blend with the environment, situation and conversation give you an edge. Have an open mind and be ready to pick up new information and knowledge that you are unfamiliar with. Go beyond your current paradigm and makeshift to the ever-changing market landscape. Never blow your horn in the presence of your friends/colleagues.
Be Cheerful, Positive and Graceful: Stay in a realm of good and contented spirit. Speak of favorable words to people and avoid gossiping. The way you move, sit, stand and walk reflect your upbringing. Always engage gentle and graceful movement and avoid large arm gestures when you speak.

Meaningful Christmas Revelation
This Christmas marked a special revelation to me. I was so looking forward to Christmas. The joy and thrill of Christmas songs, lights, trees, ornaments, log cakes, ginger breads, feasts, turkey, ham, egg nogs and cranberry drinks.... the world come together to celebrate Jesus' birth.
I hope despite of commercialism, everyone remember our Lord Saviour, Jesus Christ who was borned in a manger two thousand years ago. He came to give us Life and a Life more abundantly.
With my "Busy body" rushing throughout the year, taking break was my first priority. I am glad to take the two weeks quiet time. I want to stop "doing" and start "being". This is what I advocate in all my wellness classes. I need to practise what I preach. This Christmas, an amazing miracle happened to me just over a week ago. A micacle that I believe; was not my works, but by His obedience; given to me.
Sending out Christmas cards in a traditional way allowed me to stay down to earth. The alchemy of joining pen and paper draw me closer to those I hold dear to me.

My practical Christmas present to my hubby was an "Ang Pow" as he has been bugging me for a tablet. In exchange of ear-peace and sound advice from him (90% sound and 10% advice). Haha! Hope he can grab something I can also use in my training :P
Our second visit to a Penang feast on Christmas eve. Spicy and yummy penang kuay teow, laksa, nasi lemak, rojak, kembing soup... hmmmmm.... delicious!!! Our Christmas cheer cannot complete without attending our home church. Lovely celebration!

I spotted this Courtesy Lion Moscot...wooo...brought back lots of childhood memory. Courtesy is for me, courtesy is for you and me.... can someone help me to rhyme the next line... I have forgotten...
This sabbath prepares me for an exciting 2012. Old is out, New is in. Embrace a brand New Year with lots of positive returns.
Happy New Year Everyone!

Insomnia Remedy
An average adult requires a minimum of 7-9 hours of sleep. If you have sleep-break pattern, a light sleeper or can't get into a deep doze, you are under stress.
Switch off all the lights, draw in the curtains, keep the air conditioner temp to 25 deg. You can burn some essential oil (Lavender, Lemon grass, Sandalwood) to calm the stressful pineal and pituitary glands.
Avoid heavy meal or supper. Body cells are renewed between 11pm to 2am.
Lastly regular exercises promote good sleep and regulate your inner balance. Join a Yoga Therapy Class to learn other techniques.
All-rite-tee.... :) Have an early zzz..... Good night and sweet dream.... :)

These useful tips will help you get into the Z-mode:
- Switch off your handphone and put it away completely.
- No laptop or any electronic gadgets, you want your mind to be totally free from the cyber gigs.
- Practice Complete Breath & Viparita Karani. Lie on your bed with both legs rise up the wall, insert a pillow underneath your lower back; sinking the butt and shoulders toward the linen. This will elevate the lumbar spine (lower back) and calm the CNS (central nervous system), spread your arms out and relax the facial muscles, neck and heart.
- Breathe slowly to expand the chest, ribs and abdomen. Do not force the breath, allow the breath to flow at own pace.
- Let your thoughts come and go. Do not dwell with it. Yes, count your sheep...
- Close your eyes or use an eye pad. Note : NOT I-pad :)
- You would have fallen asleep by then.
- Seated forward bend with a pillow over your laps (stack up two or more so you could rest your cheek and arms over the pillow.
- Lying Spinal Twist
- Child Pose
